The LADWP is restoring an old aqueduct that runs from Sylmar to Pacoima to aid in replenishing the groundwater for the San Fernando Valley. It is called the Maclay Highline that runs to the Maclay Reservoir which was retired 30 years ago when a new drinking water filtration plant was required. This restoration will cost about $4.5 million but should transport $20 million dollars worth of water, to our Valley, in the first year alone!
