The actual transaction of a home purchase is a straightforward process… that takes weeks! Because it is such a large money transaction, there is a lot of paperwork and hoops to jump through. There are also many expenses incurred during this period such as the loan origination fee, escrow company, title reports and insurance, and on and on. If you’re thinking of buying or selling a property, here is a list of items usually needed for completing a transaction. More than that, this picture tells you, generally, who’s paying!

So, here’s what to expect during your purchase or sale, but I also want you to know that “who pays what” is negotiable. If you are in a multiple offer situation, this is an area where you could sweeten the pot or expect others to make their offer more enticing.
